With everyone finishing up their quick stints at their assigned schools before Teachers College begins and/or wrapping up their summer internships, I’ve been getting quite a few orders for thank you cards for mentors! Here’s an order of three cards I made for a very sweet multiple-repeat customer!

She explicitly stated that she didn’t want anything pop-up, and wanted a minimalist, image-only vintage feel to her cards. Each card was to be different, but the three were to come together with a coherent theme as a set, which I got to create.

So I decided to go with a garden/nature/flower theme, drawing upon the fact that the best mentors always inspire much growth and learning. Each card had a different image and text on the reverse, and a unique envelope as well. Here’re the photos!

Set of 3 Mentor Teachers’ Thank You Cards

Purple Bloom Card in Boysenberry, with a Mustard eyelet punched through the center.

Typewritten on the reverse with ‘With you, learning blossoms!’ :] Flower with the word “Thanks” in Vintage Sepia on the envelope.

Flower Museum Card, with flowers in Lapis Lazuli, Red Brick, Toffee, Old Moss, and Imperial. I really wanted to keep the colours sensible while still being extremely pretty, so I went for more of a warm look (vs. my pow! pink/red colours!).

The reverse reads “What BLOOMS you grow!”, which really reminded me of Mary Mary Quite Contrary. The envelope has pretty Sakura flowers in Red Brick, fanning out to the word “Thanks”. :]

And the final of the trio is the Songbird Card, with a riot of colours! A songbird in Lapis Lazuli is perched on a branch in Bark, with sprigs of Powder Green and Old Moss growing out of it. Clustered flowers in Ash Rose spill over, and mini Sakura flowers bloom in Red Brick from the branch’s edge. This card makes me think of the time Spring came when I was on exchange at the University of Oregon (go Ducks!).

And here’s a photo of the three envelopes put together, which I really wanted to keep distinct from each other while still obviously being from the same set. :]

My lovely customer was very thrilled with her purchase and said she was ‘completely bowled over’. How awesome. :] I liked the Songbird card so much that I came up with different variations in colour and blooms, and made them for other orders as well! Perhaps I’ll share those in a different post. :] Hope you liked this!
