Current Weight: 68kg
Weight Loss: 15 kg
February marks the 1st year of my weight loss journey. This time last year, I decided to stop making excuses and tackle this issue head on. 15 kg or 33 pounds lighter and 4 dress sizes down the road, I’m feeling stronger, fitter and happier than ever.

Behold the sheer difference in size of my jeans! Smaller waist? Check. Shorter groin area? Check. Smaller hips? Check. I shocked myself as well as my family when I parade around in my old jeans. Seeing the difference is simply amazing. I still can’t quite believe it!
Although the drop took awhile, but I am happy to say that I did it! No gimmicks, no shortcuts and most importantly no drugs. Through out my journey, I found out that the difference between making or breaking it boils down to 2 things. Firstly, having the right attitude and mental strength and secondly, fully embracing a total lifestyle change. Which means breaking some tough habits and saying goodbye to the words ’I CAN’T ‘. If these two components you lack, you won’t get any where.
I start out as a bitter chronic serial dieter and yo-yo exerciser who just realised what I could have become if I just continued. It was a shock to the system and my pride, when I saw an old friend losing all the weight, looking radiant and happy. In other words, I was jealous.
For the past year, I’ve went through some good patches and some rough ones. Learn some nasty lessons about dieting. Gotten some injuries along the way and ultimately I learn about the essence of weight loss. It not just about exercising and calories alone, it about changing your lifestyle, changing the way you perceive and feel about health.
Of course the formula remains the same, energy output must be more than energy input. Though, other factors adds up to it as well. Factors such as dedication, determination and will power. Without which you will be constantly making excuses that you are too tired, you got no time. You can do it tomorrow but does it happened?
I got to admit that I still have a lot more to go but I’m extremely happy with what I have achieved so far. Slow and steady, kilo by kilo, dress size by dress size. Next on the list, losing that final kilos and embark on a journey that is fulfilling this coming year.
